This musical journey explores Holy Week through the lens of the Beatitudes. The lyrics are in the present tense throughout, as though the events of Holy Week are happening in real time. Through this experience, all are invited to see the Beatitudes with a new understanding: Christ is not only the One who blesses but, by becoming one of us, is himself one of the blessed. Aside from an opening introduction, it is intended to be performed without narration, however, optional narations are provided. Accompaniment can be provided by just piano or with the addition of flute, oboe, French horn, violin, and cello.
