Edith Canat de Chizy has never abandoned the world of strings, and she continues to use their basic colour to provide her with an entire palette of timbres. Her shimmering music is iridescent and impalpable, overflowing with joyous energy and verve. The compositional arabesques and light will-o'-the-wisps are no bar to lyricism and expression, and on occasion leap up, like an enlightened spirit, towards what is often beyond us - the ethereal figures of emotion and charm.
