The genre of vocal chamber music follows the entire brief career of Vincenzo Bellini: for this reason these works are characterized mainly by different aesthetic intentionality according to the functions, places and performers forwhich they were designed. This critical edition is based on a considerable and unusual amount of autograph and printing sources which are not always easy to identify and find due to varying origin and circulation. They provide acomplete overview of all Bellini's vocal chamber compositions known to date.
