This nine-movement work masterfully captures the bizzare imagery of darkness and light and good and evil found in the Book of Revelation. Patrick Hawes' dramatic musical settings of nine different passages depicting some of the main scenes in St. John the Divine's prophecy cover a variety of moods and emotions. Construction of the movements ranges from simple, poignant SATB to double choir, depending on the textural material. A tremendous work for advanced choirs.
